Table Tennis Rules
- Teams in each match may consist of two, three or four
players.
- Each match will consist of five sets - four singles
and one doubles.
- Each set will he decided by the best of five games played to
11 points. If the score reaches 10 points each in any game, the game will be
decided by the next point (ie 11-10).
- Teams may play any combination of players, except that no
player may play in more than two sets. It will be for team captains to
agree the order of play/combination of players prior to the start of each
match.
- For each set won, a team will be awarded one league
point:-
i.e. score 5 - 0 = five points for the winners, no points for
the losers;
4 - 1 = four points for the winners, one point for the
losers;
3 - 2 = three points for the winners, two points for the
losers.
- In the event of teams tying on number of league points at the
end of the competition, the result of the match(es) between the teams
involved will decide their final league position.
- The competition will be played as one league the size
depending on the number of entrants, each team will play each of the other
teams once only, i.e. no home and away
- 8. In the event of a team not turning up for a match then the
team, which does turn up, will be awarded full points. If a team cannot make a
match for a legitimate reason then they must notify the captain of the opposing
team, and the ST table tennis tournament organiser, in advance of the match,
and a match can be re-arranged if both captains agree. Final decisions on
disputes will rest with the ST table tennis tournament organiser.
