General Information

Introduction
NPL Sports Club is an independent organisation run by a committee (the "Main Committee") elected by the membership. The Club ground is located at the edge of Bushy Park and access to the ground is via the NPL gate on Queens Road. The sporting activities of the Club are broken down into "Sections". The provision of facilities is the responsibility of the Main Committee but each Section is organised by its own committee and most are styled as a separate club e.g. "NPL Cricket Club".
Membership
All members have "Social Membership" (currently £22.50 p.a.). This entitles members to the use of the changing rooms, bar, snooker table and other general facilities. Members who are active in Sections also have to pay the additional subscription determined by their Section (however some sections e.g. athletics and amateur dramatics make no additional charge).

Facilities

Buildings
The Club has a Pavilion and associated changing room block. Adjacent to the changing room block is the Table Tennis Hut. The Pavilion has a function room (also used as a theatre), bar, lounge and snooker room.
Playing Areas
The use of the ground changes between summer and winter seasons. In summer there are two cricket pitches and one hockey pitch. In winter these are replaced by two football and three hockey pitches.
Three all-weather tennis courts are supplemented by up to four grass tennis courts during the summer. A bowling green is also available during summer. Other areas of the ground are used for five-a-side football, volleyball and archery.
Social
The Club Bar is open weekday lunchtimes and evenings and Saturday afternoon and evening. During the summer this opening is extended to Sunday. (The bar is open on some Sunday afternoons during the winter when there is a home football match). A full range of drinks is served at competitive prices and food is usually available. The snooker table can be booked in advance (via the bar). A pool table is also normally available along with other bar games.
Regular social events are organised by the Club and the Sections. The function room can be booked by members for parties etc. Enquiries and bookings should be made via the Bar Steward, Tony Grimmer who can be contacted on: 020 8943 6314.

Newsletter No 3- summer 2003

This is the third Newsletter detailing progress in the acquisition of funding for financing the demolition and reconstruction of the changing rooms. Our aim is to raise £100,000 locally by the late summer of 2004 with construction, hopefully, commencing soon after that.
